Moving to Dubai

Updated: May 29

In life, it is terrifying not to know what is about to happen. It's easy to say, “when one door closes, another one opens.” But when you don't see what's on the other side of the door, it can be scary cause you don’t know whether it is a rose garden or just a pile of dirt. It becomes quite difficult to say yes in opening that door, isn’t it? The fact of the matter is, you don't know whether you will like the sight of it once that door opens, or it could be so horrible that you want to turn back and run as fast as possible in the opposite direction.

This is where Courage comes in. Courage is a big word, but it's also a forgotten word. Do you know that courage is within each and every one of us? How come so many people refuse to ignite it? Because Fear has the power to take over courage. I have always lived my life to the fullest, I have tried everything there is to try, almost without hesitation, my bucket list was getting checked off every year. I was thinking to myself, what's the harm of adding Living in the Middle East to the list, who knows it could be fun!

Moving to Dubai was not only a scary thought it was something I had no desire to do in my life. It was not part of my plan. I am now in my 50s, and the last thing a woman who is menopausing wants to do was to live in a desert. All I had running through my mind was, it's going to be HOT. But when I thought about it more, I asked myself how many people in this world would have the opportunity to be invited to work in Dubai and experience all that life offers here, learn and understand the culture in the Middle East by living like one of them. Not too many, so I said YES!
